East Burke High School has named Crystal Bartlett the girls basketball coach. Bartlett has been the junior varsity girls head basketball coach at East Burke for two years and has served as EBHS assistant varsity girls basketball coach for the past eight years. Bartlett's record as head JV girls basketball coach is 32-5 and under her direction, the JV girls basketball team won the 2014-15 conference championship. In addition to coaching basketball, Bartlett has been the head softball coach for EBHS for the past eight years. In 2011, the softball team won the conference tournament championship.

Bartlett also has experience coaching on the college level. She spent three years as the head softball coach at Montreat College and three years as assistant softball coach at Montreat. She was named the 2004-05 AAC coach of the year.

Bartlett graduated from Montreat in 2001 with a degree in sports management. She played basketball for Montreat and was on the 2000 AAC championship team. She also is a member of Montreat's 1000-point club. In addition to basketball, Bartlett played softball for Montreat.

Bartlett is a 1996 EBHS graduate. She and her husband, Eric, have a 7-month-old daughter. Bartlett is excited about the upcoming basketball season as practice starts next month. She said, "Last year's team ended on a great note, advancing in the playoffs, and we hope to build on that success. We lost several key players, but are confident that our returners and newcomers can elevate their play to that level."

Bartlett is the chair of the physical education department at East Burke, teaches PE and is a National Board Certified teacher.
