Burke County Public Schools is pleased to announce the following leaders will assume new roles within the district for the upcoming 2016-17 school year:

·       Randy Sain has been named principal of Hildebran Elementary School

·       Shane Mace has been named principal of East Burke High School

·       Terry Penland has been named principal of East Burke Middle School

·       Jeannie Jandrew has been named principal of George Hildebrand Elementary School

·       Sara LeCroy has been named principal of Forest Hill Elementary School

·       Leicha San Miguel has been named director of Professional Development and New Teacher Support

Burke County Public Schools Superintendent Larry Putnam said, “I ask the BCPS staff and community to join me in congratulating these principals as they transition into their new positions and to offer them encouragement and support.”

Putnam added while change can be difficult, a retirement and a promotion to a directorship created these opportunities for talented leaders to advance themselves and their careers.

“We continue to have students’ best interests at heart as we connect the right people to the right position at the right time,” Putnam said. “I am confident each of these moves will help our school system continue to grow and achieve academically. As we look forward to a strong finish for this school year, it gives me great pleasure to share these exciting staff changes in preparation for next year.”

The new assignments officially go into effect July 1.
