Icard Elementary School Students who earned their second nine-week AR goal enjoyed a great treat on February 3. The Catawba Science Center came to the school and performed a Physical Science Show. They presented concepts on static electricity, pressure and the properties of liquid nitrogen. Steel, an instructor from the science center walked on broken glass and laid on a bed of nails. He explained how he did that and why students should never try these experiments at home. |

Our second and third graders performed a Famous American Program at our PTA meeting. The music and speaking parts were outstanding. |

Icard's Science / Reading Festival Students and parents came out to Icard Elementary to enjoy an evening of Hands-On Science Experiments and Reading. Crowds enjoyed free pizza, a large jumping house and various science experiments provided by the Catawba Science Center and led by teachers. All students had extra time to take AR Tests and received free science books. |
