Salem's Robotics Team - Programmer Jammers
The Salem Elementary "Programmer Jammers" joined the other Burke County Elementary schools in the first ever CyberKids Robotics Competition on April 16, 2013. After the day long competition, the Salem's Robotics Team was crowned Grand Champions.
With the win, the Programmer Jammers have advanced to the Regional Competition at Lenoir Rhyne University on May 18th.
Team members are: Faith Y., Gracie H., Gavin D., John F., Josh B., Kaylee W., Rico J. and Zhon Y. The team is coached by Rachel Holland and Michelle Holder.
Salem's Math Counts Team Salem’s Math Counts team represented our school very well at the county-wide competition on April 18th at the Old Rock School in Valdese, with a fourth place finish!
Salem's Battle of the Books Team
Salem was well represented at the annual Elementary Battle of the Books competition on March 20th. Pictured below are team members, Ryan, Lauren, Reagan, Ayah, Peyton, Brenna, and Emma with coaches Jenny Hampton and Lora Whitener.
