 What's Happening at VES

 
 
 
Attention, Volunteers!
 
We appreciate your help in our schools!  Without you, our students could not participate in some of the extra special activities that they currently enjoy. 

We have a new procedure concerning volunteers and wanted to make you aware of it.  As of October 10th, volunteer applications must be completed and returned to the school 15 days prior to the activity or event that you would like to assist with.  This enables our Human Resources department to process your application in time for you to be a part of the particular event.  Volunteer applications are good for three years and should you currently have an approved application on file then it is not necessary to complete the new form.  The new applications are available at each school and can be found on the Burke County Public Schools website under the "Community" tab as "Volunteering in Burke County Public Schools."

 Jump Rope for Heart 
Jan 25th - Feb 8th

     Please have and funds raised turned back into Mr. Dameron by Feb 8th. In our country heart diseases and stroke kill about 650 more people each day than all types of cancer put together. Please consider helping your child with this great cause!

Our CATS assemblies are scheduled for Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 at the Old Rock School.

Our school nurse, Mrs. Tonya Kiser may be reached several different ways.

Please call 874-0704 ext. 312.  If there is no answer, please call the office at 874- 0704 ext. 300.
Burke County Public Schools is currently registering children for kindergarten. Any child that turns five on or before August 31st is eligible to attend kindergarten. Students need to register for kindergarten at the elementary school in the district that they live. Please contact your local elementary school if you have questions regarding kindergarten registration. Thank you!
