25 Day Physical Activity Challenge

Can you do 60 minutes of physical activity a day for 25 days??  W.A. Young students can!  Mrs. Murray, the Physical Education teacher at W.A. Young, has challenged her students to complete 25 days of any kind of physical activity and accumulate 60 minutes per day. The information is recorded on an exercise log and will be turned in when the challenge is over in late October.
The kids are able to use sports, PE, recess, walking, washing the car~ anything that keeps them active.
The school has just begun week 4 of the challenge and the kids love it!
The challenge started on September 29th and will continue through October 31st

“Everyday I have kids tell me what they have done the day before to total 60 minutes of physical activity”, says Mrs. Murray.  The challenge is being offered through SPARK, a physical education company that offers programs and equipment to schools and daycares, to help fight inactivity and obesity in children.  SPARK is awarding a grand prize of $25,000 to the school who meets all the criteria listed: number of students participating and completing, number of posts on social media sites, and how the school will keep the challenge going after completing the 25 days.  Two runner-up prizes will be awarded as well.  W.A. Young is hoping to be one of those lucky schools!
