Charlotte Hornets Night District Takeover

Burke County Public Schools and the Charlotte Hornets are teaming up for a District Takeover Night on Saturday, March 21 at 7 p.m. as the Hornets take on the Memphis Grizzlies! All students, staff, family, friends and alumni are welcome to take advantage of these discounted tickets and have a fun night out! Tickets range from $36.99 - $203.47, depending on seat selection. 
A portion of all tickets sold will benefit Burke County Public Schools through the Burke Education Foundation, Inc.

Education Foundation awards grants to classroom projects

The Burke Education Foundation has awarded $3,000 in classroom innovation grants to two Burke County Public Schools teachers. Mary Katherine Taylor of Mountain View Elementary received $1,475 for Bobcat Beats, a music-and-movement program that energizes learning through rhythm and exercise. Amber Halliburton of Salem Elementary received $1,525 for Books on Demand, a student-centered literacy initiative using a book vending machine as a reward system.
