Deputy Superintendant
I am honored to serve as Deputy Superintendent for Burke County Public Schools, a district that holds a special place in my heart. As a lifelong resident of Burke County, a proud graduate of our schools, and now a parent of two students in the district, I am deeply committed to the success of our students, staff, and community.
My journey in education began in 2004 as an elementary school teacher, and over the years, I have had the privilege of serving as a principal at both the elementary and high school levels, as well as Director of Elementary Education. In 2021, I stepped into the role of assistant superintendent, becoming the first woman to hold this position in our district’s history. It has been an incredible opportunity to support our teachers, principals, and staff in creating the best possible learning experiences for all students.
I join Superintendent Dr. Mike Swan in saying that at Burke County Public Schools, our focus is clear: Academic Opportunities for All, All-Around Well-Being, and All Schools Connected to the Community. These goals guide our work every day as we strive to provide engaging, rigorous, and student-centered learning environments. We know that when students feel supported, challenged, and inspired, they achieve great things.
As a parent and an educator, I want every student in our district to know they are cared for, valued, and capable of achieving their dreams. The relationships built within our schools—with teachers, staff, and peers—are powerful and lasting. We want every child to graduate not only with a strong education but also with confidence in their abilities and a connection to the people who helped them along the way.
I encourage our teachers to continue building meaningful relationships with their students and families. Likewise, I encourage our students to find a trusted adult in their school who will support and guide them throughout their educational journey. Education is a team effort, and we are all in this together.
Thank you for being a part of our Burke County Public Schools family. Whether you are a student, parent, educator, or community partner, your role is essential in helping us elevate learning for all. I look forward to continuing to serve and support this amazing district.
