The TSA enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intracurricular activities, competitions and related programs. Liberty Middle School competed in Problem Solving, in which they had to build a catapult based on accuracy and speed. Patton High School competed in 3D CAD, Structural Engineering, Technology Problem Solving, Transportation Systems, and Video Game Design. Calli West and Sterling Hall brought home second place in Structural Engineering, in which they had to have a pre-built balsa wood bridge that was tested, and advance to the semifinal round which they had to build a balsa wood bridge on site to be tested the next day. The Structural Engineering team has qualified for the TSA National Conference held at the National Harbor, Maryland on June 22-26.
