This is for Receipt of a Single Prime Bid for Burke County Public Schools Administrative Office RENOVATIONS WORK (interior) at East Burke High School, East Burke Blvd., Connelly
Springs, NC 28612.

Sealed Bids shall be received and will be opened, read aloud in the BCPS Facilities Services Office at 412 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC on April 20, 2021 at 1:30 PM. Only Experienced Bidders with proven experience will be allowed to bid this project. Project Architect Bakhtiar S. Alam, AIA, will administer bid opening in presence of BCPS officials Mr. Kevin Herron, Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services and Mark Buckner, Maintenance Manager. The project scope consists of demolition of existing partition walls, doors, plumbing system and other fixed fixtures as indicated in demolition drawing. Contractor shall install dust containment enclosure to last duration of construction. Contractor shall be removing all debris to a designated location per Burke County Building Inspection. Contractor to furnish and install all new load bearing metal stud walls, interior non-load bearing partition walls on existing concrete slab. Install ceiling framing as per structural drawings. Quotation for two alternate types of structural design ceiling framing is anticipated. Furnish and install two (2) new ADA compliant restrooms as indicated in drawings. Install new heating and ventilation system as specified. The HVAC system shall be Mitsubishi Electric (Trane) City Multi system. Alternate and EQUAL manufacturer may be
considered. Design and Install sprinkler system per NFPA. Burke County Public School Facility Services will install electrical system, finish floor and fire alarm system. All walls finishes will be per project manual and Burke County Public School standards. In addition Contractor shall install entrance security area enclosure per drawing. Provide all materials and associated works to complete the construction of the offices. The General Contractor will have the opportunity to review and evaluate existing conditions and drawings to familiarize with building interior. Bid documents will be made available for contractor’s review during Pre-Bid Conference and afterword at Architects office. Approximate 6,307 square foot areas of interior spaces will be constructed as per drawings and project manual.

Cost of bid documents will be non-refundable Seventy-Five Dollars ($75) for hard-copies & Thirty Dollars ($30) for electronic files. Bidders must be Licensed General and Sub-Contractors of the class as required by the State of North Carolina statutes for the work being bid.
