The majority of CFWNC scholarships have an application deadline of January 16, 2026 or February 27, 2026. Applications (including the two required letters of recommendation) must be submitted by the deadline.

Catawba Valley Community College offers 50+ scholarships ranging from $250-$8,000!

Amount: $5,000

Eligibility: To qualify, students must have applied for full-time enrollment at a four-year university or college and must complete and return a scholarship application to DeMayo Law Offices by the announced deadline.

Amount: One Grand Prize student winner will receive $2,000, and get to produce his or her PSA with an Emmy Award-winning producer. Plus, the winner and his or her PSA will be featured on Teen Kids News!

Applications for four-year scholarships are currently open through January 15, 2026 and are listed as “The College of Education Community of Scholars Scholarship” in ECU Award. • Be a North Carolina resident for tuition purposes and reside in a qualifying rural North Carolina County as identified by the Golden LEAF Foundation
   
• Applicants must complete residency determination at the North Carolina Residency Determination Service Website
• Be a graduating North Carolina high school senior or a currently enrolled North Carolina community college transfer student enrolling full-time (degree seeking) in the fall at a participating North Carolina public or private college/university
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
• Demonstrate financial aid need as determined by the application process; have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Student Aid Index (SAI) that does not exceed $15,000
• Express an intent to return to a rural North Carolina community upon college graduation

• Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, proven leadership ability, and be a participant in church and community service activities.  
• This is an annual needs-based scholarship of at least $750.  The total amount and number of award distributions is based on the availability of funds. 
• Each application is judged on its own merit and awarded to applicants that are exceptional.
• Applicants may apply each semester. 
• Scholarship is tax free to the recipient

Do you have or know of a graduating high school senior looking for scholarship opportunities, please let them know that the NC JCI Senate and has such an opportunity ... it’s the Kyle Byrd Memorial Scholarship.

Each year, the NC JCI Senate Kyle Byrd Memorial Scholarship program selects two applicants and awards them a $500 scholarship each.

In addition, the NC JCI Senate Scholarship program will also select two applicants to submit for the US JCI Senate Scholarship program which awards several $2000, and $1000 scholarships.  This year both college and vocational scholarships are offered at the national level.

Criteria:

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to eligible children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains, and Religious Program Specialists. Our scholarships are for children pursuing a post-secondary education at any accredited school--whether that be a trade school, career training school, community college, or four-year university. We're the Nation's oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military families.

• The student must be a senior graduating from Burke County Public Schools and a direct descendent or relative of the following: parents, step-parents, grandparents, aunt, uncle, brother or sister who has been honorably discharged or is currently serving in the UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS.
