"Connecting Students to Careers Month"
A Resolution to Designate the Month of September as "Connecting Students to Careers Month" in Burke County Public Schools
WHEREAS, Burke County Public Schools is committed to providing students with the skills, knowledge, and
experiences necessary to succeed in a wide range of careers; and
WHEREAS, the construction industry is a vital sector of our economy, offering diverse and rewarding career
opportunities that are essential to the growth and development of our community; and
WHEREAS, the demand for skilled workers in the construction industry continues to grow, providing our students
with numerous opportunities for stable and prosperous careers; and
WHEREAS, promoting career awareness and education in construction-related fields will help prepare students
for the workforce and contribute to the local economy; and
WHEREAS, engaging students in career exploration and hands-on learning experiences related to construction
will help them understand the importance of these skills in our community; and
WHEREAS, Burke County Public Schools is dedicated to fostering partnerships with local businesses, industry
leaders, and educational institutions to support career and technical education; and
WHEREAS, the month of September is an opportune time to focus on career development and construction
education, as students begin their academic year and consider their future pathways;
The Burke County Board of Education hereby designates the month of September as "Career and Construction
Month" in Burke County Public Schools and that during the month of September, Burke County Public Schools
will bring awareness to the importance of technical skills in our community.
